Deena and I were west-bound on a trans-Pacific cruise that just happened to cross the International Dateline the day before my birthday. Going in that direction, it’s the next day when you cross the line. So the next day of the cruise was the day AFTER my birthday.
Deena tried to get the cruise line to do something for my birthday but they said it was impossible because my birthday didn’t exist on the cruise! To our pleasant surprise, Princess Cruise lines came through with a special champagne party for the two passengers who had no birthday this year. (There were also two crew members invited but they had to work.)
